03Procedure
How it works
From the driveway to the inspection report, with no sales talk in between.

Book a slot
Online through the booking module, or simply by phone. You know what the inspection will cost the moment you book.

Drop off and wait
Bring the car, hand over the registration document and take a seat. Allow 30 to 45 minutes.

The inspection
We work through the official RDW checklist: brakes, tyres, lights, suspension, bodywork, seatbelts and emissions. Diesels also get a smoke test.

Result and registration
We go through the report with you and explain what we found. If the car passes, we register it with the RDW straight away.
What to bring

- The key for your locking wheel nuts, if you have them
What if the car fails?
We do not repair. We earn nothing from a failed item, and you have the work done at the garage of your own choosing.
You get a list of everything that is not in order, with an explanation: what it is and how urgent it really is. After the repair you come back for the re-test, which is free as long as you return within two months and it concerns the same items.
How long is an APK valid?
That depends on the fuel type and the age of your car. Your inspection report always states the exact expiry date.

Worth knowing: if you have the car inspected within two months before the expiry date, you keep your original inspection date. Being early costs you nothing.

Not every station has the room or the experience for these. We do, and you will not be charged anything you did not know about in advance.

Motorhomes up to 3,500 kg
A motorhome counts as a passenger car with living space in it, so it falls under the normal APK requirement. We have the height and the length to get one inside. Extra attention goes to the things motorhomes more often fail on: gas installation feed-throughs, how the body is mounted, tyre age and axle weights.

Classic and youngtimer cars
Cars between 30 and 50 years old only need inspecting every two years. Older than 50 years is APK exempt, although plenty of owners still choose to have it checked. We are happy to do that as a voluntary inspection. A surcharge applies from 20 and again from 35 years, and it is agreed in advance.

Vans
We inspect vans up to 3,500 kg for freelancers and small businesses in the region. Your van is not earning while it is with us, so we plan tightly and stick to the time. Most people are back on the road within 45 minutes.

Diesels
Diesels need inspecting every year from three years old, including a smoke test. Diesels with a particulate filter are held to a stricter standard. We measure according to the current RDW requirements and explain the result, including when it sits right on the limit.
Tip for motorhome owners: do not book in spring, just as everyone wants to set off. In autumn and winter you get a slot much sooner.

I am Rens. I inspect cars, and I do not repair them. That is not a coincidence but a choice: the moment I would also be working on your car, I have an interest in what I find. This way I do not.
I spent years in the workshop before starting on my own. I saw up close how often an inspection gets used to bring work in, and I wanted to do it differently. Here you hear what is there, what it means and how urgent it really is. Where you have it fixed afterwards is up to you.
That includes taking the time to go through the report with you. Not in trade jargon, just in plain words. If anything is unclear, call me. You get me on the line, not a reception desk.

Frequently asked questions
Can I be helped in English?
Yes. A lot of our customers in the Eindhoven region do not speak Dutch, so this is entirely normal here. Call or send a message in English and we will reply in English.
What is an APK, exactly?
The APK is the Dutch roadworthiness test, comparable to the MOT in the UK or the TÜV in Germany. It is a legal requirement. Without a valid APK you are not insured and you risk a fine.
How long does an APK take?
Allow around 30 to 45 minutes. You are welcome to wait, there is somewhere to sit.
Do you also do repairs?
No, and that is deliberate. We are an independent inspection station: we only inspect. That means we have nothing to gain from failing your car, so you get an honest verdict. Repairs you have done at the garage of your own choosing.
Can I come without an appointment?
Calling or booking a slot online is better, then you know the lift is free. If there is room in the schedule we are happy to help you straight away.
Do you inspect motorhomes, vans and classic cars?
Yes. Motorhomes up to 3,500 kg, vans, diesels and classic cars come through here regularly. We have the space and the experience for them.
